Senior .NET Engineer - Front Office Trading
As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Engineer with strong Microservices knowledge and experience in containers to support a Trading Systems project.
- Design, implement, and test .NET microservices to enable data connections between external SaaS services and internal applications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment with existing architecture and patterns.
- Document design and implementation decisions.
- Perform requirements analysis, design, and initial testing for the system within a team context.
- Provide on-call support for deployed microservices.
- Contribute to discussions on system design and architecture improvements.
- Ensure microservices are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
In this role the SW Developer will integrate external SaaS services with internal applications used for front to back tracding.
This is an initial contract running for 24+ months with strong likelihood to extend on a long term basis (up to max five years) based on the project road maps, with start date by November 2026.
As part of an agile team, the engineer will ensure that the microservices align with the existing architecture and design patterns while meeting the evolving needs of the organization. This position will involve close collaboration with other software engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders from various departments such as Risk, Finance, Banking Backoffice and Front Office (Traders).
- At least five years' SW development experience of which at least 2 years should be in C#/.NET Core & micro-services
- Experience in Kubernetes / OpenShift Container Platform is mandatory
- A passion for clean code, software craftsmanship and automated testing (TDD a plus), and the ability to impart this knowledge to others.
- Strong hands-on experience with message queues (ideally Kafka),
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (HDFS is a plus),
- Knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in a bank or similar highly regulated environment, including knowledge of trade lifecylce
- Fluency in English
The following are nice to have but not mandatory:
- Experience with the secure software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of financial transactions and operations.
Please note interviews would be conducted via video call (max two rounds), however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
