The Plumbing Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled plumbing preventive maintenance and repair work on mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties. The incumbent would repair, and install plumbing as needed to support a variety of systems including but not limited to plumbing building and mechanical systems, potable water treatment and storage, waste water treatment, fire sprinkler, swimming pool and landscape irrigation.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

This position requires competence in maintaining and repairing plumbing and mechanical systems, fixtures, water treatment, potable water and wastewater treatment plants, swimming pools, fire sprinkler systems (including sensors and alarms), building automation systems, hydronic systems, and water heaters, as well as in replacing minor components such as motors, valves, pumps, controls, and recording instruments. The successful candidate must know how to test control devices to monitor performance, diagnose faults, and compare current operating capacity against design requirements under host country regulations, and must be able to read and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and material lists.

The incumbent must also have the communication and interpersonal skills to answer questions from end users, and the ability to work as part of a team, under pressure, and on a tight schedule.
