Team Lead, Commissioning & Qualification Engineering

Overview

We are looking for a Team Lead to support the Head of our Commissioning & Qalification Engineering (CQE) department in a shared leadership ("duo leadership") model. The department is responsible for SKAN's core business of delivering standard and customized isolator projects. As Team Lead, you will lead, coach, and support a dedicated team of approximately 12 employees with a strong operational focus. This hands-on leadership role is close to the team and responsible for daily coordination and ensuring operational performance. You will set team objectives, support employees in their day-to-day work, identify conflicts and emerging issues at an early stage, and act as a key interface between the team and the Head of Department.

Responsibilities

  • Technical coordination of the operational CQE team
  • Lead and oversee the execution of specific strategic projects
  • Implement and continuously improve processes and work instructions
  • Support departmental budget planning and ensure budget compliance
  • Execute and monitor departmental strategy and KPIs
  • Manage time tracking and expense reporting processes
  • Actively participate in recruitment activities
  • Travel requirement of approximately 10%

Hardskills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Plant Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in plant engineering, commissioning, and qualification activities, ideally within a pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environment
  • Experience in a direct or indirect leadership role
  • Practical knowledge of Siemens PLC systems (Step 7/TIA Portal) and/or Allen-Bradley control systems is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office and other IT systems
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English
